Riffle & Reel ("the site") is published by MadGrey LLC ("we", "us"). By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Everything on this site is editorial opinion and general information about fly fishing equipment, published in good faith and researched as described on How We Choose.

• It is not professional, safety, medical, legal or financial advice.
• It is not a guarantee of any product's performance, durability or fitness for your purpose. We are not the manufacturer and we do not warrant anyone else's goods.
• It is not a substitute for the manufacturer's own instructions, specifications and warnings. Where the two differ, follow the manufacturer.
• Scores and rankings are editorial judgment against a published rubric, not test results. We do not operate a testing laboratory and do not claim to.

Our gear pages explain what equipment does and does not do. The decision to enter any body of water, in any condition, on any day, is yours alone, and you make it at your own risk. Check local conditions and regulations, fish with someone when you can, and turn back when it does not feel right.

Fishing licenses, seasons, catch limits, and rules on felt soles and gear cleaning vary by state and change over time. Where we mention a regulation it is for orientation only — you are responsible for confirming the current rules for the water you are fishing with the relevant state agency.

This site earns commission on qualifying purchases made through its links, as set out in full on the affiliate disclosure page. We are a publisher and not a retailer: we do not sell goods, hold stock, take payment or handle returns.

Any transaction you enter into is between you and that retailer, on their terms. Questions about an order, a delivery, a refund or a warranty claim go to them — we have no access to your order and no ability to act on it.

We verify specifications at source and re-check pages on the cadence published on How We Choose, but products are discontinued, specifications are revised and retailers change what they stock. Content is provided “as is”, without warranty of accuracy or completeness.

We publish no prices. Where a page discusses cost it uses explicitly labeled bands, never a quote. Any price you see is at the retailer, at the moment you look, and it is the only one that counts.

We do not guarantee the site will be available uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, move or remove any page at any time.

The text, tables, rubric, scoring and layout of this site are © MadGrey LLC. You are welcome to quote a short extract with a visible credit and a working link to the page you took it from. You may not republish a page or a table wholesale, or use this content to train a model for resale, without written permission.
